Kasteel de Haar or De Haar Castle is one of the most impressive mock-castles in the province of Utrecht in the Netherlands. The castle got everything you could dream of in a fortress: a grand moat, teetering towers, suspension bridges and impressive battlements. It is also home to many art objects. Next to the castle you can find a romantic chapel and beautiful parks and gardens. The castle is surrounded by a large English landscaped garden with broad paths, canal-like stretches of pond and statues throughout. It was entirely restored and partially rebuilt in the late 19th century and it rises like a fairy-tale castle from a park with impressive trees, surrounded by old gardens and ponds. A visit to Kasteel de Haar is a journey of discovery to a marvellous world.
